What is Class A burning? If your lot is at least 2.47 acres and you have debris from land clearing for a non-farming use only, then Class A burning is for you!

CLASS A OPEN BURNING - PERMIT REQUIRED ($1,000+)
- Permit Application
- Pre-Inspection Req'd ($100+)
- Debris from land clearing for a non-farming use only that has been dried for 180 days min
- No compostable or recyclables (no leaves/weeds/needles/etc)
- No material from offsite
- NO OTHER MATERIALS ALLOWED!
- Venting Index is Good
- No Fire Ban in effect
- Minimum parcel 2.47 acres
- 3m to 10m max diameter piles
- 100m setback from neighboring residences and businesses
- 500m setback from schools in session, hospitals and care facilities
- Nothing added after 5pm
- Max 3 Consecutive Days
- Continuous Supervision
- Sufficient Water onsite
- Sufficient Equipment onsite
- Sufficient Labour onsite
