THIS IS A SUMMARY FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE. YOU MUST READ, UNDERSTAND AND FOLLOW THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OUTLINED ON THE CLASS 'B' OPEN BURNING PERMIT APPLICATION IN ADDITION TO BYLAW 2514.

- Have your water & extinguisting equipment on site?
- Do you meet all the requirements?
What is Class B burning? If your lot is at least 2.47 acres and you have dried tree stumps, trunks, branches and/or prunings to dispose of, then Class B burning is for you!

CLASS B OPEN BURNING - PERMIT REQUIRED (FREE)
- Permit Application
- For thinning and pruning vegetation (FireSmart)
- ONLY stumps, trunks, branches, and prunings that have been dried for 180 days
- No compostable or recyclables (no leaves/weeds/needles/etc)
- No material from offsite
- NO OTHER MATERIALS ALLOWED!
- Venting Index is 55 or greater
- No Fire Ban in effect.
- Minimum parcel 2.47 acres
- Piles under 2m in height
- Piles under 3m in diameter
- 10m setback from anything
- Nothing added after 5pm
- Max 12 Consecutive hours
- Continuous Supervision
- Sufficient Water onsite
- Sufficient Equipment onsite
- Sufficient Labour onsite
